Merino Wool Yarns

Merino Wool, the wool that is created specifically from the shearing of the merino sheep, is the softest wool in the world. Originally from Australia, the merino sheep now lives on all the continents, and the wool varies by country and climate. Fab specializes in merino for a number of reasons - the main is that it is SO SOFT. We have merinos in all different Micron Counts - the smaller the micron count - the softer the  yarn.  A lot of yarns don't include their micron counts, because it is used at the mill level, really, to sort the fiber prior to spinning - but if you see XTRA FINE, you can generally be sure that the yarn you are looking at is going to be especially soft.
